OotiniCast episode 484 - 02024-03-06
There was no ability bloat. Anyone who thinks that just wants a dumb down version. They took away so many good abilities that hurt a lot of classes. You can tell which class/spec got favored over others.
Wish Eric had talked about the issue at 33mins in a bit more. If he communicated on the forums about this a bit more I feel like it would of been largely accepted if done more evenly. Some classes didn't get enough time and it shows. Great interview, I am just a PvPer so I don't usually find stuff like this but, this is great. Gives me some much needed insight and clarity, I don't so much like Keiths response but Eric brought some much needed clarity.
Kinda disappointing none of you had the balls to talk about raids / mmo content, r4 nim etc :(
I need controller support so bad
Congrats on 501!
Interviewers, you did a great job. Sadly, Musco and Keith provided nothing but non-answer after non-answer throughout... nothing you can do about that, but I'm not sure why they'd even grant an interview if they weren't prepared to talk about the things people want to hear about (more story, next expansion, next operation, PVP.) I expect this from them, sadly, but definitely not a slight against your podcast because you made the best of it!
Star wars central send me here
Cool!

If this had SWTOR in the title it would have got 100k views
Fair enough. It's in the tags, though, and the description. But it was a very busy couple of weeks and I didn't think of every angle. (Chill)
Congrats on 500! Great episode!
Thanks, Boomy!
How could you fail to ask about the collapse in voice-acted story progression? Was it a precondition of the interview?
There isn't a collapse of voice-acted story progression. There's a voice actor strike on right now, and they're honoring that, as they should.
@@ootinicast Simply not true. 7.5 predates the strike and was a PROFOUND drop in production quality. How could you miss this?
Congratulations on episode 500! I checked out of SWTOR a few years ago and got really into FFXIV, but I'm seeing a lot of small steps in the right direction between the dynamic events, the lair boss, and increased dev communication. Maybe I'll pick it up again for a little bit if I see more along those lines
32:00 well you do the cross hotbar solution, same as FFXIV and you get 120 button combinations on a controller
Wish you wpuld have asked about new Raids
I call bs about ability bloat, there are some classes that didn't lose any powers. Ability pruning ends in chaos. They could have just made the basic attacks morph into newer abilities instead of keeping them. They destroyed almost all tech classes with ability pruning with 7.0 while most force users didn't get touched.
I wanna agree with that too. They butchered almost every class. Them saying it made PVP better is BS, Juggeranauts rule and decimate with rage. My main Commando was horribly butchered by their decisions. Them also saying it gave players choice, F no it didn't. A majority of the time you have to pick between mobility and Defensive power (Cough mercs and Rocket out). They did it because they let it slip that it was to complex for players to learn and they wanted to dumb down the game to them.
@@Montrose7106 No class should of had DCD or mobility options taken away. They butchered Merc/Mando, Jugg/Guard, and Slinger/Sniper with what they did. Let alone taking hard stuns and soft stuns away from some classes/specs and making it an option and other classes/specs getting to keep theirs.
agree but force users didnt get touched? sins are garbage and mara imo is even worse, that class doesnt even have a hardstun anymore lol
Congrats on 500!
Thanks for the shout out was a fun (p.s. im from Cornwall)

The gang’s all here!
Kitty
Great cast! Thanks Chill!
Congratulations on another OotiniCast episode!!
Thanks for another awesome OotiniCast episode!!
I like the quick travel black screen tip. I have always used this strategy for crew skills. If you know where your crew skills panel is, you can pretty easily craft and send companions on missions during the load. It’s fun to make a game out of it 😜 cheers!
Sorry for missing this episode, Again.
Thanks for another great OotiniCast episode!!
Guys... the people who listen to this WANT the spoilers of Asohka. If anything the listeners want to hear from You Guys. Anybody listening to decade old MMO legends podcast... wants to hear people talk about the show. Remember have fun, don't worry about people have seen. Put time codes if you're really concerned.
Thanks for another awesome episode of OotiniCast!
Just listened to this on Spotify and had to come here just to say Kitty's send off at the end was hilarious!!! You should totally do that more.
Another good episode, keep up the nice work 😎
Great episode! Random request: do you have a list of all the Star Wars quotes that you have used at the beginning of the show in your 400+ episodes?
This was so great, and she's such an amazing Voice Actress. Well done with this interview 👍
Just absolutely awesome

This is the start of the end for swtor as losing the number 2 dev and they don't plan to replace him says a lot.
Thanks as always for another awesome and exciting episode of OotiniCast! Xam Xam is such a delightful and positive person to join you guys on the show. I hope that in the future you will be able to have more streamers and non streamers alike. May the Force be with you, DL Smooth Wolf.

Thank you for another fantastic episode!
Thanks for another awesome and exciting episode of OotiniCast! You guys as well as the Star Forge Podcast and even Working Class Nerds (Despite what Marcus says about being the worst Podcast ever) I've enjoyed everything you and the other Podcasters have to offer. May the Force be with you, DL Smooth Wolf.
Just found you guys a few weeks ago on Spotify. Love listening to you guys. Trying to go backwards on your podcasts. Have a 1 hr drive to and from work 4 days a week so give me a couple months and I might get somewhat caught up. Took a 6yr vacation from swtor. Came back in Nov of 2021.
Another awesome and excellent Ootinicast episode! Keep up the great work.
Hey guys, thanks for another OotiniCast. Respect for keeping it going like this over all these years. Question; could you maybe do something about the audio balance for next episodes? It's hard to hear Kitty while Chill is quite loud comparetively. Thanks!
Thanks again for another awesome and exciting episode of Ootinicast! I always love the comedic and insightful discussions about swtor and life in general. Your friend, Darklightsmoothwolf.
Thank you again for another awesome and exciting episode of OotiniCast! I know I wasn't there since it's conception/inception, But I just wanted to say that some of you are like family to me and I will always appreciate that. Sincerely, Adrian Smith a.k.a. Darklightwolf
Great to see the show still going as long as it has. I know it hasn't always been easy. The game has gone through several rough points yet the show has endured, adapted and continued to find an audience. Shout out to those that have come and gone. Teo, Hypnotoad, Chong, Bill, R3dn4 and many many others. Was happy to have played a small part in the past, meeting some at the cantina events, including the first Seattle Community Cantina event in September of 2014 where Galactic Starfighter was first announced. There I met Chill, R3dn4 and his future wife, my guildmate, PrettyLittleSith aka Diannah as well as Musco, Amber Green and Damion Schubert. There I won a pair of Lightsaber chopsticks that I have to this day. The following year I attended the Seattle Cantina event once again and helped the guys beat Dulfy to the punch in uploading the Cantina flash drive content. Though I no longer regularly play I have many great memories from the game and this podcast.
